Darline Billups

Darline Billups Loudermilk was born on October 15, 1942, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late John Lee Walters and Mattie Ruth Moore. She was a woman of deep faith, enduring love, and extraordinary grace. A mother, grandmother, and beloved presence whose life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. From an early age, Darline answered the call of faith, confessing Christ and grounding herself in the Word at Azell Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. She later united with St. John Missionary Baptist under the leadership of Reverend A.E. Davis, where she remained a faithful and devoted member of the St. John Missionary Ministry until her sunset on March 25, 2026. Darline was a woman who poured herself into her family. She worked at Stuart Warners before marrying Roosevelt Billups, and the couple was blessed with four children. She later married RC Loudermilk, and two sons joined the family, bringing the household to six children whom she raised with unwavering dedication. As a devoted homemaker, she made her home a place of warmth, belonging, and abundance. It was in the kitchen, however, where Darline truly shone. Cooking was not merely a skill — it was her calling. She had a gift for bringing people together around the table, and her desire to feed and nourish those around her knew no limit. Family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike were welcomed and fed, because that was simply who she was. Her sister Daisy, a kindred spirit and one of the closest bonds of her heart, affectionately called her Hula, a name that carried with it a lifetime of shared laughter and love. Darline leaves to cherish her loving memory her sister, Emma Brown her brothers, Jesse Walters, Fred Moore, and Hamp Moore; and her six children: Anthony Dillingham (Merrill), Demetria Billups-Ojeda, Angela Billups-Jones (Marvin), Constance Billups-McCray (John), Wendy Phillips (Richard), and Roy Billups. Her grandchildren also survive her: Anthony P., Deborah, Kimberly, Tashawna, Jasmine, Ryan, Ashley A., Erika, Ashley B., Antwon, Anthony T., Whitney, Gabriel, Jeremiah, Piper, Noah, Hershey, Tyler, Keiarra, Jacquise, Xavier, Julie, Nick, Jenny, Joe, Jessica, Brianna, and Ashley; 47 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a cherished host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Darline Billups Loudermilk lived a life rich in faith, full of love, and generous in spirit. Her table always had room for one more, and her heart never ran out of room either.
